William Howard Hooker

William H. Hooker, 74, passed away October 29, 2019. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's degree in marketing. After graduation, he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany along the border between East and West Germany subsequently earning an honorable discharge. afterwards, he settled in the Memphis area and earned an Associate's degree in computer science from State Technical Institute in Memphis. He worked many years as a computer programmer and retired from the City of Memphis in that capacity. In later years, he enjoyed working part time at Walgreens in Millington. He is survived by his wife, Melba J. Hooker; three daughters, Julie Forbess (Jay) of Millington, TN, Janice Cronk (Mike) of Olive Branch, MS, and Lisa Jarrett (Harry) of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren, William Ashton Prince, Andrew Fox Forbess, Alexis Marie Cronk and Savannah Lynn Jarrett; sister, Ann Layton of Magee, MS; and brother, Neil L. Hooker of Niceville, FL.Read Obituary
