Omie Timbs, 84, of Millington, TN passed away June 28, 2020. She attended The Apostolic Church in Millington for many years. Mrs. Timbs was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Timbs; parents, Ben and Annie Dowdy; sisters, Inez Ledbetter, Verna Hooper, Rosie Cunningham and Ethel Whitehead; brothers, Thelmon Dowdy and Jessie Dowdy. She is survived by her brother, George Dowdy and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday (July 2) from 12pm until the service at 2pm at the Munford Chapel. Omie was such a dear freind to me and my father, Travis Abby. She was a very loving and caring woman and loved doing for others. She told me she would ride with my father to the grocery store to do his shopping. His sight was bad and he pulled out in front of a car. I told her "Omie you shouldn't ride with him and she said " oh no I can't not go to the store with him, his my friend. We will all be together up there one day.
