Metta "Lia" Kucharske Hambick

Lia Hambick, 80, of Munford, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. The family will receive friends Monday (Sep 17) at River of Life Church from 11am until the service at 12pm. Interment to follow in Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford. Lia is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Horst (Mary) Hambick of Pontiac, Michigan; two daughters, Jo-an Hambick of Munford, and Barbie (Donald) Cooper of Drummonds; grandson, Matthew (Lindsie) Cooper of Drummonds; granddaughter, Anna Cooper, of Drummonds; and great-grandson, Aiden Ray Cooper of Drummonds; sister, Wilma Büchsel, and brother, Freddie (Ruth) Abé, both of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Anna Kucharske; brothers, Heinz Peter Kucharske, Werner Kucharske, and Joachin Abé; as well as a sister, Erika Stämmer. Born in Darmstadt, Germany, she grew up as a survivor overcoming war torn Germany, culture shock of the Southern USA of 1962, and numerous bouts of cancer. She loved the United States and became a citizen in 1972. Lia also loved Jesus Christ and made a point to share His Good News with anyone she met because she never met a stranger.
