Malinda Jones

Malinda Gordon Jones, age 68, of Richland, MS, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2019. She was born to Percy Noel Gordon and Ruby Stewart Gordon on August 27, 1951 in West Point, MS. She was a graduate of West Point High School and received her college degree in Communications from Crighton College. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Jones of Senatobia, MS in 2011. Malinda is survived by her sister Jean Munden of Gainesville, FL, brother Ken Gordon of Tupelo, MS, and sister Joy Abston of Slidell, LA. She was the mother of three sons, Will (Shannon) Sharp of Lexington, SC, Noel (Leigh) Sharp of Brandon, MS, and Jon (Brandi) Sharp of Germantown, TN. She was also the Meme of six grandchildren: Gracen, Ruby Claire, Sophie, Brady, Seth and Tyler. Malinda, as a child, enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church and singing in front of the congregation with her brother and sisters. Malinda worked as a secretary and office assistant until she was unable to do so due to a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Malinda also spent much of her time taking care of her mother and husband while they were dealing with health issues as well. She was an animal lover, raising dogs, potbellied pigs, and emus. She spent the last few years of her life in Richland, MS where she could be near family. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jim, in Rosemark Cemetery in Rosemark, TN.
