Joseph was such a great friend; I hardly know where to begin. We were roommates in the USAF over 50 years ago and got to be fast friends. We even went home on leave at the same time and got to meet each others families, which was quite a treat for both of us. Joe's sense of humor and love of music were but 2 of the many factors that cemented our relationship.
We lost touch when he joined the USN, but I dug him up about 5 years ago on Facebook and it was like nothing had changed, except we both had added a pound or 2. And I just couldn't get over how Joe looked so much older than I did... :-)
He and Jenny made a trip to S'port City, we got to visit and it was so good to see them both. I'll miss his funny posts, his love for the Lord, his family and the many, many pictures that told so much of his life story. What a long, full loving and well-loved life he lived. I can surely imagine that soon after he passed , he heard his Lord and Savior say:
"Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord."
Goodbye, my brother. Fair winds and following seas, Chief. I'll miss you; I love you and I'll see you again.
