Glyn “GG” Graves, 83, passed away June 28, 2020. Mr. Graves served as Chairman of the JATC for Local 614 Improvement Trust Fund for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife (of 62 years) Elizabeth and his brother, Mickey David Graves. He is survived by his son, Tony (Kristy) Graves; granddaughter, Biliana (Blake) Bartlett; great-grandson, Eli Bartlett; step-grandchildren, Brooklyn Jones and Jake (Katelyn) Jones; step-great-grandchild, Zoee Jones. The family will receive friends Tuesday (June 30) from 5:00pm – 8:00pm with a service Wednesday at 11:00am at the Millington Chapel. Interment is private. Glyn was a good man and a class act.My dad was so proud of him and all that he had accomplished.Although he died in 1970 he would be even prouder of all Glyn accomplished after dad was gone. We had newspaper articles sent to us when Glyn was involved with Cook and Nichol and dad always brought them out to show friends when they came to our house. Through all the years that my mom was sick Glyn would call her first thing every morning and she so looked forward to his call.How we all enjoyed his surprise visits to us in Detroit with either Mickey David or Uncle Obie. He will certainly be missed but never forgotten.

Mr Glyn was so nice at the race track, he always tried to make things right. As in this night the wrecker dropped a tire that came down the track and caused us a Flat Leading the race and caused us to have to pit. When all was said and done Mr Glyn paid us for the Win Anyway. Will always be Greatful to the Graves Family. Praying for Tony and Family . He will be Missed.

in honor of Glyn.

I would like to share a few of my treasured memories of Glyn. He was a good man. Kind, caring, thoughtful, humorous, dependable, and supportive are just a few words to describe his great character. As a child, he would phone our home and pretend to be Happy Hal. Local baby boomers will know who he was. It might take me several minutes, but I would finally say “ Glyn?” and he would just laugh. When I had to say bye to my mother for the last time, Glyn was there giving me support during the most difficult day of my life.He stood quietly in the room ready to do whatever was needed. Glyn kept us, the cousins, always connected to our past by sharing stories about our parents and grandparents that we were not aware of. He was very well thought of and respected by the family. Glyn will be missed very much. His loss is felt by all. His was a life well lived. Rest in peace my dear cousin. Thanks for everything. Love ya.
