Clara Mae Lee, 87, of Millington, Tennessee gained her Angel wings on Friday, February 7th, 2020.She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on September 22, 1932 to Larkin & Katherine Collins. Clara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert E Lee; her beautiful grandson, Taylor Joyner; brothers, Larkin Collins Jr, Gary Collins, Jimmy Collins; and sister, Peggy Swinney. After traveling extensively around the world as a military spouse she started her career & retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department as a Sheriff’s Deputy. Clara’s main interest in life was her family and she was known to many as Granny Lee. She loved unconditionally, would light up any room with her smile and anyone that truly knew Clara, knew of her many “Clarisms”. She was the most unselfish, kind, caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Life to her was simply family and she will be missed beyond measure. She leaves behind her son, David Lee (Lori) of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughters, Kathy Harrison (Larry) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Beverly Buonviri (Kenny) of Key West, Florida; five grandchildren, Trey Thompson, Rachael Lee, Amber Thompson, Sean Thompson and Drew Joyner; three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Lillian and Baylor; sister, Rosemary Savage (Sammy); brother-in-law, Don Swinney; four nieces, five nephews and many loving friends. In lieu of flowers, Clara’s wish was for donations to be made to a charity she felt so deeply about, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee (StJude.org). The family will be holding a private memorial and would like to take this time to thank everyone who reached out with love and prayers.“Mom, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you’re always at our side.”
